Animal Phonics Readers內含的長短母音、複合子音以及子音群分別為：

1.短母音(藍色書框)：short a, short e, short i, short o, short u, +短母音複習。

2.長母音(黃色邊框)：long a, long e,long i, long o, long u +長母音複習。

3.特殊長母音(橘色邊框)：ai, ee, oo

4.複合子音(橘色邊框)：wh, sh, ch (兩個字母結合改變原音，合發一個子音)

5.子音群(綠色邊框)：pr, gr, cr, sn, sl, sp(兩個字母結合但卻各自保留子音發音)

共22本自然發音小書，加上兩本長短母音綜合練習，一共24本小書。

小書內容遇到該小書的重點發音單字，也會用較粗黑字標出，
